Expo 1925 – Paris
The pavilion by architect Josef Gočár attracted deserved attention. The author received the Honorary Legion Order for it. His pavilion was considered one of the best quality pavilions at the exhibition, although not the most attractive, being overshadowed by the two greatest attractions of the exhibition, the wooden constructivist stand of the Soviet Union by architect Konstantin Melnikov and Le Corbusiere's timeless pavilion L’Esprit Nouveau. Decorations for Gočár's building were prepared by Pavel Janák, the painter František Kysela and the sculptor Jan Štursa, the author of the statue of Victory for the pavilion.
