Expo 1900 – Paris
The concept of the interior of the pavilion of the Austro-Hungarian Empire was commissioned from Jan Koula and Josef Fanta, who were awarded with a gold medal of the exhibition for their work. Josef Fanta is also the author of the Prague Main Station built in the art nouveau style. Jan Koula is also the author of the pavilion for exhibition of Marold's panoramic painting of the Battle at Lipany situated on the premises of the Holešovice exhibition grounds in Prague.
Another pavilion awarded at the same exhibition was the pavilion of the newly liberated Bosnia and Herzegovina, decorated, on the basis of a commission by the Paris commissioner of the exhibition, by the Czech painter Alfons Mucha, then living in Paris.
